Who are the children?

wpe7.gif (15519 bytes) Most of the available children are healthy newborns up to age one. Siblings are not usually available.

How does the process work?

In most cases, the family must first submit their dossier, and then a referral will be given to them within one to two months. Sometimes, there are waiting children, though.  The children are normally referred from the hospital after birth. The hospital will provide a brief medical report and photographs.

We work in two different provinces. On one province, the family is required to travel to Vietnam to formally submit their dossier. They will stay for just this, and then return home. On the other province, this trip is waived.

Once the dossier has been submitted and a referral has been accepted, the family is expected to travel in about one to two months.   The adoption is finalized through the provincial justice department.  No formal court hearing with adoptive parents is required.

When the adoption is complete, the family must travel to Bangkok to process the child's visa.

Who is eligible?

According to Vietnamese law, adoptive parents must be at least 20 years older than the child they wish to adopt. Children up to and including age 15 are eligible for adoption. If the child is over age nine, they must give their consent in writing. There are no restrictions as to marital status, age, etc. of the adoptive parents.

How much does it cost?

Fees, including international fees, agency fees, and travel, average about $14,000. For more detailed information, please e-mail us.
